Called To Create Podcast-Purposeful Fulfillment, Personal Development, Creative Entrepreneurship

What did you discover this year in 2021?

Did you have a chance to even really think about what you discovered about your dreams, your life, things you need to change?

Like maybe bad habits?!

Or, did you discover wonderful things about yourself because
it’s really easy to not allow yourself to discover or think anything good about yourself?

Even though this podcast is about what you’re called to create, I like to talk about your heart and your mind and your dreams and your desires because those are the two things(your heart and your mind) that affect your whole life.

When you work on your heart and your mind, you are able to move forward towards your dreams and what you’re called to create.

I love to talk about creating because I know that God put us here on this earth for many reasons, and one of them is to create.

We are given gifts and talents and everyone’s gift is different so creating will be different.

Now’s a good time to think about what you want to create in your life?  What did you discover that you did or didn’t do, or what did you discover about yourself?

When you talk about discovering, it’s endless on what you can talk about because we live different lives and we do different things.

Children are a good example of discovery!  They want to discover everything and look for things, and it would be so amazing if we could have the same attitude as children do.

I want you to do that for yourself starting now!  You don’t have to wait until 2022.

Do this for yourself because the more you can discover things, that’s when the possibilities of creation open up.

It’s amazing what you can create for your own life because creating is not only about making things with our hands, creating is all about our life, we create everything.  We create our homes, our lives,

our jobs, our businesses.  We create our families.

Everything we do is a creation.

Do this because your dreams matter and you have worth and value, so pay attention to all the discoveries that you’ve made.

Did You See Your Glass As Half Empty or Half Full This Year?

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season even though we have New Year’s coming up and had a great month of December!

I hope you were able to listen to all the holiday wish episodes and if you didn’t have a chance, please go back and listen to them because I wanted to share some holiday wishes for you.  I hope you were able to receive those holiday wishes!

And, now with it being the last week in December 2021, I wanted to wrap things up for this year and ask you if you saw your glass half empty or half full.

We all know that this pandemic has affected so many people and their families in so many different ways, so what kind of attitude did you have this year?  Were you able to see your glass half empty or half full?

We all come from different backgrounds and have different personalities and everyone will choose how they want to see life.

Seeing the glass half empty or half full is just a metaphor for how you look at life and the things that go on in your own personal life.

I love this metaphor because it’s easy to understand.

Some people will look at the glass and see it as half empty and not realize that that’s how they look at their life, that they feel like they're missing out on things, or that their life has no meaning, or that bad things always happen to them.

But, if you could switch it around and look at your glass half full, you still have more goodness that you could put in your glass and into your life and work towards the desires of your heart.

I look at my glass as half full, and there are so many things I want to do and accomplish and places I want to travel to!

But, not 100% of the time, I have days or times throughout the year where I like life has too many trials going on or there’s too much stress where I’ll feel like the glass is half empty, and somebody took my water from my glass!

Then I think about it after and realize that I’m having a moment of frustration and exhaustion, so then I start to focus on how I want to live my life and the values that I have.

There’s a lot of good in the world and I want you to start looking at your glass as half full if you are one of those that look at it that way, and I want to invite you to switch it around and look at your glass as half full and be ready to fill it and enjoy the rest of your life.

We live in a world today where there are so many opportunities to fulfill your dreams, so take this opportunity now that we're at the end of the year and write in your journal-all the things you want
to fill your cup with.

When you start fulfilling your dreams, it changes who you are and starts to radiate that happiness that you’ll be feeling.

Write out all your dreams and desires even the ones you’ve had since you were a child.  Don’t ever let yourself, talk yourself out of your dreams.

Share your dreams with someone who will cheer you on.

Do this for yourself today!  No, if, ands, or buts!

This Holiday Wish episode is on GENEROSITY.

AND, that is the holiday wish I want to share with you.

In episode #190, I talked about GIVING and how it’s so much
more than giving a gift and that it’s a two-way thing(for lack of better words). It should be reciprocal, that’s what we want
anyway!

When you talk about generosity, it’s on a whole other level because generosity means to give liberally and not be selfish.

So, it’s very different than giving, like giving of your time.

How do you get to the point of being generous naturally
without having to think about it?

I have seen it and have gone through this before where there
are a lot of people who are not generous.  They have no desire
to give of their time, or their money, or to give a gift, and if they
do it’s usually half-heartedly.

To be generous, you have to be confident in yourself that you
have enough because being generous is about giving as much
as you possibly can without reservation.  It’s about giving from your heart and not worrying about if you’re going to go bankrupt, or you’re going to lose your home or go hungry because you
can’t pay your bills.

Generosity is what the whole world is based off-of like love,
where you have to have love and generosity in order to make
the world go-round and make society work.

I have met so many people who have so much generosity and love in their whole being, and they just ooze this generosity and they have so much love in them.

That’s exactly how my best friend is, she just has this love and kindness and generosity that just radiates from her, it’s not something that she has to try and do, it’s a gift that God gave
her.

It’s easier to become better as I get older because I’ve learned from all my mistakes and the experiences I’ve had that have
taught me great lessons.

I can give without worrying about if I have enough money in my bank account, or I don’t have to worry about if I give my money
or my time that I’ll be depleted.

Because generosity is the complete opposite of lack.

Think about it because it’s so easy to think about “me, me, me”
all the time and “what is it that I want”.  But the moment you
step outside of yourself, and serve someone and see how you
can lift someone else, the more it comes back to you.

It’s one of those things that you get what you give.

I want you to generous this holiday season and for the rest of
your life, and think about how you can get to that point of being generous naturally without you having to think about it because
it’s who you’ve become and who you are.

I like to look at what the Savior when He lived on the earth, and
He is a living God and I always think about how can I become
more like the Savior would want me to become, how can I follow
in His footsteps and how can I become a better person even though I’ll never reach perfection here on earth.

Go out and see how you can serve someone and be generous.

Happy Holidays!

This Holiday Wish episode is on TRUST.

AND, that is the holiday wish I want to share with you.

Do you trust yourself?  Do you trust people?

Trust is a very interning topic because it can bring up a lot of emotions for people.

If you look up the definition of trust in the dictionary, it says
that trust is to rely upon or place confidence in someone or
something.  And I’ll add that yourself in that definition.

Are you one of those that can place confidence in yourself?

We can’t control anyone else, we can only control ourselves,
what we say, what we think, what we do.

Are you reliable with yourself because of the fact that you can
only control yourself?

Are you good to yourself where you can rely on yourself and
trust yourself, and place confidence in yourself where you’re
going to do what you say you’re going to do?

Sometimes if you’re having a hard time being reliable in your personal life, it will show up in your work or your job.

Because if you grew up in a house where there wasn’t any
trust, then it becomes very hard to trust yourself or other
people as an adult.

But now is a good time to start to do what you say you’re
going to do and especially that you’re going to trust in
yourself that you’ll do what is right.

Life becomes easier when you do what is right and start
trusting in yourself.

You want to live a life where you know people will trust you
and that they know that you’ll do what is right because we
have to live with people and around people.

You want to be able to place that confidence in yourself
because when you do, it becomes something that radiates
from you.

You become a better person when you pay attention to what
you do and what you say, and whether you things that are right
or not.

We are going to make mistakes, that’s just part of life, but you
can turn to God and ask for help.

Turn to God when you need help the most because you want
to trust yourself the most.

Start doing all the things that need to be done so that you can trust in the person that you look at in the mirror every day.

So, figure out what kind of person you want to become and
start trusting in yourself and just take those little steps every single day.

Happy Holidays!

This Holiday Wish episode is on GRATITUDE.

AND, that is the holiday wish I want to share with you.

Gratitude is more than being thankful.

Being thankful could be defined or described as being happy
or relieved for something that has happened or for something someone has done for you. It could possibly leave your mind
or fade over time.

Have you ever said or heard someone say “I”m so grateful that I have a roof over my head and food to eat” or “I’m grateful that I have a family” or “I’m grateful that I have a job”?

Being grateful and having gratitude is just that, it’s that deep
down feeling and emotions for the important things in your life
that really matters the most.

And, these are the things that won’t or don’t fade over time,
unless you start to take things for granted or something
happens in your life.

Being grateful can bring a feeling of calm and could also help
you feel at peace in your life.

Take the time to write in your journal all the things that you’re grateful for and you never know what your life will be like after that.

And that's my holiday wish for you today. I wish that you will
have gratitude and that other people will be grateful for you.

Happy Holidays!

This Holiday Wish episode is on GIVING.

AND, that is the holiday wish I want to share with you.

I wish for you to receive [giving] and to give [giving] if that makes any sense. And I want to start off and talk about giving in a way where we can kind of understand about giving because, you know when we think of giving, you know, it's like you're giving something or you're giving a gift to someone. But if you really think about it, giving is a two-way thing. It's like the person receiving the giving has to be able to receive it and want it so it has to be reciprocal.

And it's not only about giving gifts or buying someone a present especially now during the holiday season.

Giving is so much more than giving a gift or buying a present because when you think about giving something it usually has to do with either giving of your time, giving your energy, giving your emotions, giving a gift and you have to use money sometimes when you have to buy a gift, or sometimes you give money.

And giving is such a big topic too because it involves so many of those things, your time, talent, energy, and emotions. But if you think about it, we give because we want to feel good. We want to be able to have someone receive what we're giving no matter what it is because we will always get something in return.

And that's a good thing when you give something because you want something in return. It's good when you're doing it for the right reasons where you're giving because you want someone to love you back like when you're in a relationship you give love because you want to receive love. And you also give love because that's the right thing to do.

And because people are so different, we all have different personalities, different thoughts, and ideas, different upbringings we will always give differently because we are different people. And that's the beauty of humanity is that we give differently because we are different.

Can you imagine in a world where we're all the same, we just are like robots, but we're not so it's so wonderful to see all the different ways that people give of their time and energy and money.

And, share your talents and your gifts, that’s part of giving and that's another reason why you have gifts and talents is to give
and to share with people because that is what makes the world
go round, it will brighten someone else's day.

So I want you to think about the kind of giving that you give. What is it that you do that is just natural. Do you just naturally give up your time because that's just who you are? Do you just naturally give gifts or money to people?

Do you give your warmth of love and compassion?

Sometimes all people want is just a listening ear or somebody to love and care for them or care about them. So think about the ways that you can give and be giving in a good and positive way.

Think about our Savior when he walked the earth. He gave us his time and love and he gave all that he had to help people and to teach. And I encourage you to use the Savior as an example in giving because he is the perfect example.

Reach out to your neighbor or anyone who you know could use five minutes of your time.

We all have five minutes to give to someone in need.  What can you give today to brighten someone's day and to make someone else's life better?

We all have something to give that comes from a good place. We all have been given the gift of giving and love. So tap into that. And remember you have worth and value.

Give the gift of giving of your time and your love to someone because this is what will fill your life with joy. If someone is giving something to you remember to receive it because when you give something or your time or energy to someone you want them to receive it and receive it with love and joy.

That's what makes this world so beautiful when we can give and receive because receiving is part of giving.

And that's my holiday wish for you today.

Happy Holidays!

This Holiday Wish episode is on KINDNESS.

AND, that is the holiday wish I want to share with you.

Because I hope that people treat you with kindness and that
you treat people with kindness too.

Kindness could be described as nice or gentle.

We definitely need more nice and gentle people in this world.

Do you think about treating people with kindness in your daily
life?

Do you realize that without kindness, the world will be a very
dark place?  Just like if the world didn’t have any love, the world would be very dark.

When you were growing up, did your parents teach you to be
kind and to say please and thank you?

I’m so grateful to my mom for teaching me to be polite and to
treat people how I want to be treated when I’m out in the world.

One of my top values is kindness!  I don’t believe in being nasty
to people no matter how I’m feeling, or if I’m having a bad day.

I hope you think about the topic of kindness today.

What about acts of kindness?  Do you think about how you can
do an act of kindness?

When you make it a practice of doing acts of kindness, it
changes your perspective on life, and it gets you to think
outside of yourself and to serve someone.

That’s what God wants for us, is to become better and to get outside of ourselves

You’ll be amazed at the kind of person you become.

What about smiling at someone when you’re out and about.  Do you smile at people?  That’s another act of kindness when you smile at someone.  You never know how much of a difference you could make in someone’s day.

It also makes a difference in how you feel about yourself.

Happy Holidays!

This Holiday Wish episode is on FAITH.

AND, that is the holiday wish I want to share with you.

I love learning and talking about faith!  I think it’s one of those topics that are important and sometimes hard to hard to understand unless you are actively walking with faith.

It’s also not tangible.  You can’t hold it, or touch it.

And everyone has their own definition of faith and what it means
to them.

But, faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith isn’t a one-time thing, it’s an ongoing practice and for that reason, you have to have a practice of choosing faith, even when things are hard or you have fear.

Faith is something that God wants you to have.

You have to move forward in faith and trust in God that all things will work out for your good.

Faith is so powerful!  You also have to be obedient to God’s laws and commandments if you want the blessings that come with
faith.

This Holiday Wish episode is on GOODNESS.

AND, that is the holiday wish I want to share with you.

The dictionary definition of Goodness is the quality or state of being good.

I know you want to have goodness!  We are born with goodness inside of us given to us by God.

I know you want to do good in your life, especially during this holiday season.

Have you ever said that “I’m a good person" or have your heard other people say ‘I’m a good person’?

I’m here to tell you that you are a good person and that you do have goodness inside of you, even if you have struggles or

This Holiday Wish episode is on GENTLENESS.

AND, that is the holiday wish I want to share with you.

I would describe gentleness as something so moving that it
makes you feel so good.

Think about if you’ve ever carried someone’s baby or carried
your own baby, didn’t you do it with the most extreme gentleness ever?

And, you didn’t want to hurt the baby and you were soft and delicate.

Gentleness is free from being harsh or rough.

Focus and think about how you treat yourself and how you live your life, do you treat yourself with gentleness?

Once you understand yourself, it’s so easy to understand your life and the life around you.

Life becomes so much better to live.

If you just take notice of how you’re treating yourself, how you’re treating people, it allows our hearts and minds to work together.

Think about gentleness today, we need a lot more gentleness in our lives and in this world.

This Holiday Wish episode is on PEACE.

And peace is the holiday wish I want for you.

What do you think of when you hear the word PEACE?

Do you think of peace of mind, peace, and quiet, or peace in
your heart, contentment?

Peace is something that so many people want, and some may
not know how to get or find peace.

And, it’s also one of those things that you wouldn’t seek out or
try to find like how you would with love or joy.

It’s usually not top of mind until your life gets noisy or crazy and stressful.

I like to describe peace as stillness, feeling a ‘calm’ in your heart and your mind and there’s no chaos.

You cannot have peace if you have anger, contention, or hate in your heart and your mind.

Peace will come when you have forgiven everyone that you think or feel has done something wrong to you.

Strive to have peace in your heart and in your life.

Holiday Wish episode on Joy

JOY is the holiday wish I want to share with you.

We need more Joy!

JOY is more than happiness, it goes beyond just being happy,
it’s an inner feeling.

Joy can feel like it’s deep and you feel it in your whole body or
in the depths of your soul, and it feels like it’s never going to
end, and the best part of that is that you could even have a
joyful expression on your face.

Wouldn’t that be so cool if you could always have a joyful expression!

Joy can fill your whole being when you’re in a state of gratitude and being thankful for ALL that you are, all that you have, all
that you are able to do, and more.

Joy comes to you so powerfully when you serve!

The kind of service I’m talking about is like how Jesus Christ service people when He lived on earth.

True Joy comes when you serve people and forget about
yourself.  It does NOT include serving someone where money
is involved like a business.

Examples of serving and service are when you check on your neighbor or a family member-do they need help?  Can you
bring a warm meal to someone?  What about bringing a plate
of cookies to someone who you know lives alone and is lonely?

The only way true joy is constant and will stay with you is when you forget about yourself and serve those around you!

Joy is like love, they go together.  I believe that Joy is in the
same realm as love, it’s almost like those two words are the
same, and they’re synonymous with each other.

Joy almost makes you feel all squishy inside.

With Joy, it’s easier to overcome the really hard things in your
life, and it can help you to feel like you can make it through the trials or stress in your life.

Joy has a way of making you want to do good in your life.
When you experience Joy, it literally changes you.

You have worth and value.

My holiday wish for you is to have Joy, and when you do have
joy, share it with people.

Talk to people about this episode and share it with them.

Happy Holidays!

I wanted to make Holiday Wish episodes for you.

LOVE is the holiday wish I want to share with you and I know
that for some people and families, the holidays are not always filled with love.

Many families argue or fight and there can be a lot of tension
for many reasons.

And it may not be anything that you have said or done to cause any stress or contention, sometimes it is the other people in
your home.

So, what is it that you can do?

Remember, that we all love differently and we all understand
love differently. You have to understand how you love, and
what love means
to you.

I’m not a love expert, but I do know that we are all unique and different and come from a wide variety of upbringings where
some people weren’t shown any love growing up, or the love
they received was conditional.

Do you have love in your heart?

Remember to come from a place of love this Holiday Season.

Uh…it’s so hard to become a better version of yourself, don’t you think?!

I mean, don’t you have to let go of things that aren’t working for you, but you still hold onto it like it’s your life vest?

The word change is one of those words that put people in a state of resistance.  Let’s get real!

Change is hard, so why not look at it from a different perspective!

How about looking at it as becoming a better version of yourself instead.

Think about what you need to do to become a better version of yourself.  Think about it.  We are thinkers, we think about a lot of things, so think about what you can become.

Because you have worth and value!

Do you feel the pressure of time?

Towards the end of the year, I feel the pressure of time, and time
is one of those things that you have no control over, but the
feeling is still there and you want to control the time.

I find myself saying a lot is that I want time to slow down or stop for a few hours.

There are many people who teach time management and one of them when he was still living was Hyrum Smith and Steven Covey of Franklin Covey.  Unfortunately, those 2 wonderful men have passed on and are no longer here, but what they taught was so good.

And if you didn’t realize that time management is all about managing yourself in the amount of time you have when you’re doing something or managing yourself within every 24 hours
you have in a day.

Now with the holidays upon us, many people have already
started the shopping and the decorating and all of the things
that go along with the Holidays which adds more pressure.

Why do we do that to ourselves?  Why do we add on more than
we already have?

Enjoy the holidays’s the way it was intended ➡️ to be with family and friends and to be grateful and thankful for all that we have.

Buying More, More, More?

In episode #178, I talked about wanting more, more, more because you think that’s going to get you what you want, and if that’s really what you want?

I want to continue talking about this more, more, more thing that can and maybe is happening, because it’s not bad to want and
buy more for yourself, but what happens when it gets out of control.

You might not even realize that it’s happening until someone points it out, and it can be hard to look at it because no one
wants to see the things that aren’t working or aren’t healthy.

Take a good look at what you’ve been buying and see what’s behind all the buying, shopping, spending.  It’s also known as emotional shopping!

There’s that high that you get when you shop and it feels so
good and it numbs the pain or frustration or any other emotion that you’re struggling with.

Are you buying more than you need or have money for?  Are you buying more things that only make you happy for a day or a week?

I have my own story of constantly BUYING fabric and sewing supplies and sewing machines.

Think about what really matters because It’s time to live a more fulfilled life and there’s no time to waste.

I’ve come to know what really matters and what’s just a waste of time.  Time is one of those things that you can’t get back!

Are you wanting more, more, more because you think that’s
going to get you what you want.  Is that really what you want?
To be doing more?

Or are you just running from how you really feel about yourself?

It’s not bad to want more for yourself and your life, but what happens when it gets out of control and you aren’t reaching the ‘more’ you’ve been working so much and so hard for?

Take a good look at what you’ve been doing and see what’s
behind all the doing.

Are you doing more than you have energy for?

I share my story of constantly, volunteering and volunteering
even more because other people(parents) weren't volunteering.

When you come to know who you are at the very core of your being, and who God created you to be, then you will be unstoppable.

I know this because for about half of my adult life I have been on
a journey to find out who God created me to be and what he
wants me to do while I’m here on earth.

And now I don’t have a desire to want to do more and more to
the point of exhaustion.

I’ve come to know what really matters and what’s just a waste
of time.  Time is one of those things that you can’t get back!

Your past is in the past and you can’t change it even though you wish you could.

You were operating according to your feelings and needs at the time.

I want to use the example of driving, you have to look ahead and pay attention so that you can stay in your lane, but when you only look in the rearview mirror, you’re going to crash.

You have to be aware and be careful not to let the past suck the life out of you.

All the experiences you’ve ever had in the past are for your learning and to gain the knowledge and understanding you need about yourself and about life.

That’s how you learn and grow and become a better person.

Think about what you learned from those things in the past you wished you could change.

Did you learn how much emotional strength you had?

Did you learn what you like and what you don’t like?

Did you learn what you’re capable of in hard situations?

Did it help you to realize that you’ll never do ‘that’ again?

Did it help you to see your capacity to love and to learn how to
love yourself?

Ask yourself all those kinds of questions and look for any and all
of the positive things that came out of your past.

If you can’t get past your past mistakes, then it will be very
difficult to move forward and focus on the future and create
the kind of life you want to have now.

Your creative assignment: focus on the future

Welcome to the Called To Create Podcast where I talk about creating, being creative, personal development, business, and more.

You’ve heard that question before about taking a bird’s eye view.

What would you see?  Would you see yourself living a life that
you like or love?  Would you see yourself making a contribution
to the people or causes that are super important to you?

It’s important to take a step back and look at your life as often as can.  Schedule it in!

I take a look at my life all the time and then I like to talk about it
on this podcast.

The most effective teaching comes from experience.  If I didn’t
do or don’t do the things that I talk about and teach on then there’s a disconnect with those that are listening.  And you wouldn’t believe anything I say.

So, why is important to take a bird’s eye view?

Because it’s common to fall into the day-to-day routine and grind and whatever other words you want to use to describe your life.

It might even scare you when you take a look.

And that’s ok…that’s the beauty of life, you can change.  You can decide what you want your life to be like.

When I take a bird’s eye view of my life, a certain time of the day,
I see myself going back and forth from my office to the kitchen to look for chocolate or something to snack on when I’m frustrated with whatever I’m working on.

But in other parts of my life I would see that I’m doing ok or even pretty good, but definitely not perfect.

I know what areas I need to make changes to and where I need to change my thinking.

It is a lifelong journey to get where you want to go and be where you want to be, it doesn’t happen in a month or a year because if you have a spouse or children or family, you can’t force them to do what you want.

This is your creative assignment:

From your bird’s eye view, identify at least 1 thing that you see
and know needs to change.

Write it down!  Get out your fancy notebook and write down what you see and make a decision that you are going to do what you can and need to do to make that change.

Improve your bird’s eye view one step at a time.

Are you only looking at what’s wrong and not the wins?

Are you even aware that you could be doing that?

Reflect on your life and what you do on a regular basis.

If you take the time to look at your wins, you’ll come to find out that you’ve had more wins than you’ve had wrong.

You have to write it all down, reflect on all the good that you’ve done in your life. If you’ve done wrong or made bad choices,
you’ll be able to see that you have had more wins.

You will find what you’re looking for and I talked about this in episode #100.  If you look for the bad, you’ll find it.  If you look
for the good, you’ll find it.

Get a fancy notebook and write it all out, reflect on your life.  If you’d like, you can make 2 columns with one column you can
list all your wins, and the other column you can write down all
the things that you think you’ve done wrong.

If you’re not sure about your wins, then ask someone like a best friend.

When you take the time to focus on your wins, it becomes easier to feel confident about yourself and to know that you can overcome all the things you struggle with, even if it takes time.

Remember you have worth and value.

In today’s episode, I want to talk about finding your rhythm because this idea popped into my mind one day.

A good example of rhythm is when you think about music is an arrangement of musical sounds, when you listen to music there’s
a rhythm to it it's a repeated pattern and when you can get into a rhythm like beautiful music it just flows and it feels good but, that also means that you have to know yourself in order to create this rhythm.

It can be harder to get into a rhythm when you’re doing things
that are hard or you don’t completely know or understand.

There’s a pattern to everything are there things you have to do before you do something in order to get into that rhythm.

Think about a time when you knew how to get into that rhythm, what did you have to do?

It’s that flow that you want to have, and when you get into that rhythmic flow nothing can stop you now!

Have you ever experienced that and you didn’t want it to stop?

Music is like that, especially when it’s a beautiful song and you
get familiar with the rhythm of the music and you don’t it to end.

Have you ever played that song over and over because you liked
it so much?

There’s a rhythm and pattern to everything in life.

Where there’s a flow to the things you do, then things in your life don’t feel so stressful or seem like it’s a struggle.

Restless nights?  Could it be that you aren’t feeling fulfilled?

The basic definition of fulfillment is happiness and satisfaction.

I wanted to talk about feeling fulfilled because I have a deep
desire to feel fulfilled and I want you to have that too.

In episode #99, I talk about how easy it is to suppress any
feelings that you have.  If you haven’t had a chance to listen to
that episode, then go listen to it after you listen to this episode.

Fulfillment is different for everyone, not to mention the fact that
we come from different places in the world and different cultures.

The need for fulfillment means that you have a stirring inside and that stirring comes from God because you have a mission to fulfill here on earth.

The kind of fulfillment you need and want will change over time
as you grow and learn and experience different things in your life.

Do this for yourself today!  Because you have worth and value.

Overwhelmed?!  It can and will lead to procrastination.

There are at least 100 ways to deal with overwhelm that I’ve
heard of, but, I’m only going to talk about one.

Write it out.

I want you to answer this question on paper.

Why am I overwhelmed?

It will reveal itself.

Here’s are some examples of what’s possibly going on:

I have to do things I don’t want to do.

It’s boring.

It takes too long.

I don’t like doing (_that thing_).

I’m tired.

I would rather have someone else do it instead.

It’s a waste of time right now.

It’s not creative.

I don’t feel like it.

Ultimately, you know what needs to get done first and what’s the most important, and you’re not incapable of figuring out what’s most important or urgent.

There are always going to be days when it’s hard to do the hard things.

Keep writing it out.

Your creative assignment is to get a colorful pen and write out
on paper why you’re overwhelmed.

⬇️

I can help you deal with overwhelm and limiting beliefs, staying aligned with your values and purpose so you don’t get distracted by all the SHINY OBJECTS.

If you’re a creative person who’s interested in learning how to
make your creative passion into a business I will help with clarity,
I will hold your hand and walk with you from start to finish, and

In episode #170, I talked about creativity is a gift and something that you have to do and that you’re creative because you were given the gift of creativity by God.

It’s deeper than art, and that it’s a creation of bringing something into existence.  Everything in existence is a creation

If you can recognize that creativity is your superpower then it would be incredible what you could create.

We create because we love beauty and it brings us joy.

Go back and listen to episode #170 if you haven’t listened to it.

This is perfect timing because Walt Disney World just had a 50-year celebration that was a special on TV.

Everything they do is a creation and they work tirelessly to
create an experience for people.

Think about it.  If we couldn’t create and use our gift of
creativity, then what else is there to do in this world?

We would be wandering around this earth aimlessly!

There’s a reason and a purpose for creativity to exist

and it has the ability to take you beyond what you know is possible.  Have you ever amazed yourself after you finished making something?

It was probably because you were open to possibilities.

Ideas will always come into your mind and it’s up to you to be
open to them or not.

It is your superpower!

Guess what? Creativity is your superpower!

Have you ever heard anyone ever say that before?

You will have people say ‘I’m not creative!’ but that's just not true.

Definition of creativity: the use of the imagination or the creation
of original ideas.

It’s deeper than creativity in art, it’s a creation-it’s bringing something into existence.

Which by the way includes creating your thoughts, creating your feelings, creating your reality.

Anytime you create something it’s going to happen by using materials that already exist, and either transforming it into something else or combining it with something.

There’s a thing called creative problem solving and using your creative superpower will help you in ways that will amaze you.

REJECTION! Never Take It Personally!

I know that’s easier said than done and, it can be super painful
and debilitating!  I know because I’ve had experiences in my life, especially as a teenager (if you know what I mean!)

But also in my business too.  Early on when I used to make things and try to sell them at Craft Fairs and not very many people were buying the things that I made was really, really hard.

That felt like the ultimate rejection I could have ever experienced
in my business.

In life and in your business you’re going to have people reject you and/or your ideas, or, criticize you and, criticizing is also a form of rejection because they’re being negative about what you say, do, and make.

But I want to tell you that to remember that

It’s never about you when you’re criticized or rejected, it’s always about them-the other person.

When you are successful you will have people criticize you and
then reject you because they usually aren’t successful themselves and have a deep sense of lack they feel within.

You have two choices:

You can take the route that will lead you to ignore the critics and let it motivate you to prove that what you’re doing is worth it, or, you can take the route that will lead you to get upset and drop out of life or your business.

Which are you going to choose?

You are different!  Creative people like you are different!  And being different comes with its own rewards like having success in your business, having a more fulfilling life, and more.

What can you do to motivate yourself when you’ve been rejected?

Here are the things that you can do:

Remember that you were created by God, remember your WHY, remember your creative gifts, and remember that with your gifts-you can make a difference in your family, your community, or the world.

If you want success in whatever you’re doing you have to ignore
the critics and remember that being rejected doesn’t define who you are and it doesn’t devalue your worth.

REMEMBER! Never take rejection personally!

You’re going to have to do things you’ve never done before when you have your own business and there’s no way around it and I’m here to help you on your journey!

I really love how humanity works where we all help each other.  If everyone did the same thing in their business or their jobs, then life and, this world would be so much better.

That’s one of the reasons why I have this podcast, it’s so that I can help you by teaching what I know and sharing the things that I think could help you in your life and in your business…all for FREE!

Of course, I would love for you to work with me so that I can help you get your business started and help you understand how to stitch all the pieces of a business together.  But, it’s OK if you’re
not interested in working with me or you’re not ready.

I still want to teach and share as much as possible with you.

I love teaching because I learn a lot while I’m teaching. I love how that works!

Think about when you were a kid and you fell down and skinned both of your knees. 😩

What did you do?  (Now just as a side note, I don’t have a high tolerance for physical pain, so I’m pretty sure I cried a lot.)

What about you? Did you cry a lot and then after the pain subsided, did you get back up and start playing again?  Or did you sit there and give up on having fun?

I was talking to a friend recently about her business and she said that sometimes she feels like she’s hanging on by a thread.

That’s why it’s so important to have a friend, or a coach, or someone who has a business too that you can work with or talk to when you feel like you’re hanging on by a thread.

Everything in life that’s good is worth learning and just like business, it’s always going to be a learning process and journey.  Not everything is going to be smooth sailing or easy and that’s good because when you have to work hard at something, you appreciate it way, way more.

Here are some of the things you can do to help you when you’re struggling:

1.  Find someone that you can talk to on a weekly basis that will
be supportive if you’re not ready to hire a coach yet.

2.  Say a prayer if you believe in God.

3.  Journaling-it’s such a powerful tool, it helps you get out all the things that are going on in your mind.

4.  Take a class or course in that area that you’re trying to learn and understand.

5.  You have to go back to why you’re doing this or why you want to start a business, then it makes things so much more difficult.  Don’t give up when things get hard.  Go back to your WHY. What is so important to you!

REMEMBER-pick yourself up when you fall or feel like you’ve failed because you have worth and value and what you do matters!  You can do this.

⬇️

Have you been wondering or even losing sleep over how much
it’s going to cost you to start your business?!  It can seem overwhelming just thinking about that because money is one of those things that can stress people out.

And, because of that reason, I have a number of things to share
with you about start-up costs and some examples that can give
you an idea of how much money you would need.

But let me start by saying that there is no one way that’s perfect
or the right way to start because it will always depend on what
kind of business you want to start and how much time you
actually have to work on your business.

And also the structure of your business will depend on if you
want to sell a physical product that you make yourself, or if you want to sell a digital product, or if you want to teach a skill that you’re good at.

There are so many things that go into starting and running a business.

➡️ The first example is if you want to start without having to spend any money for various reasons, you can look at what resources you already have - like your computer and cell phone.

➡️ The second example is if you have only $100 to spend, you can
buy a $20 Lavalier microphone to record your videos or audio.

➡️ The third example is if you are willing to spend $500 or more so that you can buy a better microphone or, pay for services that will allow you to have another person help you create designs in Canva
are some things that you could spend your money on.

I don’t advise you to spend a lot of money at first because you never really know if all the money you’re spending is going to be worth it or if you’re going to continue with your business.

Think about it, maybe you start your business, and a few months into you decide that entrepreneurship is not for you or, that you want to change the structure of your business completely, there can be an unlimited number of reasons.

There are dozens of things that you need to know before you
start your business and I want to talk about the first three most important things that I think are at the top of the list of what
you need to know.

Let’s talk about it!

Now, have you ever had your mother say to you ➡️
“I told you but, you didn’t listen” or, “I told you but, you didn’t believe me”?  My mom has said that to me and I’ve said that
to my kids.

So, maybe you would believe me when I tell you these things or maybe you won’t until you experience it for yourself.

It depends on where you are mentally, spiritually, emotionally.

These are the top 3 things:

1. A big time commitment

You have to know and accept the fact that starting and running
your own business is going to take a lot of your time at first, especially when you’re learning about all the things you need to
do even the things that aren’t fun-because believe me, there are
a lot of things that aren’t fun or that you may not enjoy doing in
your business.  But in any business it’s like that, there will always
be things that you have to do.

2. Your mindset

You have to always be working on your mindset and, what
that means is that you have to always be aware of what you’re
thinking about yourself what you believe about yourself and
your abilities.

3. You have to talk about money

You may not have a big issue with talking about your money or dealing with it but, if you don’t talk about it you will lose sleep
and it will stress you out.

The more you talk about hard things the easier it gets.

When you talk about these things it increases the chance of success that you can have in your business.  It’s also a real confidence booster. 😉

Send me a DM to set up a strategy session so that I can help
you get your business started.

If you’re a creative person who’s interested in learning how to
make your creative passion into a business I will help with clarity,
I will hold your hand and walk with you from start to finish, and
just like I used to sew elaborate outfits I will help you put all the different pieces together until you have a beautiful creation.

I’m going to be your accountability coach.  Email me at

When you’re first starting out what should your priority be?
What’s the most important thing you need to do?

Your first priority is:

To “Define your message!” What are you going to talk about, what is your thing?

We touch the lives of so many people from across the world and not just in our community now because of the internet so, the
more you get clear on what your topic is the easier it will be to
get your business going and for you to get known for your topic.

For example: if you were really good at organizing, you could teach organizing and maybe you could teach someone how to organize their home or their kitchen?

You would want to teach something that you’ve mastered and you love talking about it.

So think about how you would go about talking about it - you could have steps like: step 1, step 2 & step 3, or the top 3 things they could do.

Do they need any supplies?  If they do, then what are those supplies?

Is there a schedule that they could use that would make it quicker or easier?

What would you say to someone for them to have some small
wins as they start out?

Get really clear on what you would want to teach or help people with.

I want to talk about the Olympics because these amazing athletes have developed amazing discipline and that’s how business is.

But things take time, sometimes it takes many many years to get rolling moving.

These athletes are a great example of what it takes to succeed.

As they are interviewed on T.V. they share what it took for them to get where they are despite all of their struggles, injuries, and more.

The Olympics is a good reminder of what we can accomplish when
we put our heart and soul into something.

Business can be hard but the more you put into your business,
the more you’ll get out of it.

What is it that you can do and focus on that may be frustrating
for you at this moment?

Share What You Believe In!

It may feel scary at first but the more you do the easier it gets.

There will always be people who believe in the things you believe
in.

Having your own business provides a platform to share the things that you believe in which then creates a connection with your audience.

They (your potential client or customer) can get to know you and start to like you and then will eventually trust you and buy from
you.

You can do it!  You have worth and value!

I wanted to talk about being prepared and not being prepared
and babysitting because I’ve been doing a lot of babysitting.

And I wasn’t prepared ahead of time.

Let me ask you: what are those things in your life that come up
that you want to do or have to do and you realize that there’s no time left in the day even though we have 24 hours in a day?

I want to ask you: what are those unexpected things that keep popping up that you have to be prepared for?

Prepare ahead of time what you’re going to do, even if you have
to write it out.

Prepare yourself because life is moving so fast.

Who knows you might have to babysit one day! 😉

Is it worth it to hire a coach?  Are you not sure if you should or
want to hire one?

It’s so important to do your research before paying a coach because back in episode #160 I talked about not doing my
research before hiring a coach and what happened.

There are so many wonderful coaches out there that can help
you in any area of your life because you can’t see where you
need help or what your weaknesses are.

You can get on a strategy call with me if you’re interested in working with me and/or you have a lot of questions.  Send me

I can’t say it enough that you must, must, must do more research before you hire a coach.

Each coach will have a lot of knowledge in certain things or areas and that’s what you want when you’re paying someone to help
you.

You don’t want to hire a coach and pay a lot of money if you
haven’t seen, heard, or read about what they can do to help you.

My experience with hiring a coach that was not the right fit.
She should have told me and stopped our coaching sessions
and refunded my money.

Please make sure to do your research so that you don’t waste
your valuable time and hard-earned money.

Do you feel like you are your biggest obstacle most of the time and do you think thoughts like - “Why would this work for me?” and/or
“I don’t think I can do that!”

Then, I think it’s time to dig deep and find out what is really going on in your heart and your mind.

If we spent some time uncovering all the hidden thoughts and feelings.

I want to use the obstacle course example.

Have you ever gone through an obstacle course or watched someone go through one?

Is all the practical stuff killing your creativity!

I use the example of if you are a painter, and how somebody had
to do all the boring stuff and design and paintbrush and make
that paintbrush.

Someone had to design and make the canvas for you to paint on.

If you look at it from a different perspective, you would be able to see that they were creating too when they were making the brush and canvas.

Behind every good thing, there has to be the practical stuff.
It gets easier the more you do all of that (what seems like)
boring and practical stuff.

But you don’t want to do all the practical and technical stuff in
one day, that would just suck the life out of you.

➡️ Your creative assignment is to do something creative after
you’ve don’t the practical or technical stuff!

Try a new word for this month.

In episode #154 I talked about having a word for the year has
been really popular for so many people, and that I’ve never really felt strongly about having a word for the year.

But a couple of years ago I tried having a word for the year, but I forgot all about that word because I get distracted easily!

But what about having a word for the month?

I started using a word for the month last month and it’s been helping me and I didn’t think it would.

I also gave a creative assignment which was…to find a word for
the month that you feel you need to work on.

Because I have the bright shiny object thing going on it’s been helping me to stay on track a lot more.

I invite you to try out this word of the month technique and see
how it will help you and what it will do for your life.

I’m committed to trying this word of the month technique until
the end of the year, December.

Your creative assignment is to find a new word for this month
and see what it will do for you.

And send me a DM on Instagram @janinjohnston so I can cheer

And now you can get post-it notes in all kinds of shapes and, designs.

But I also wanted to talk about overwhelm. And I wanted to ask

you if you're feeling overwhelmed, now you could be overwhelmed in your life or in your business, or even the thought of starting a business can be overwhelming. And so I wanted to combine the
two overwhelm and post-it notes. I think that's a really cool combination.

Put a stake in the ground today and start your business!

I want to use the example of when someone sells their home, the real estate agent puts the ‘FOR SALE’ sign that’s attached to a
large size poll that is shaped like a stake- it’s pointed at the end, and it’s pounded into the ground.

Email or text your family, friends, co-worker, former co-workers,
and anyone you know that you have their email addresses or cell numbers, and let them know what you’ve decided to do.

You want to let people know that what you’re doing so that they
can refer your product or service to people who they think might
be interested.

Just like the FOR SALE sign outside of the home, it’s letting people know that that house is ready to be shown to interested buyers.

If the homeowner changes their mind, then they can take it off the market.  It’s the same for you, if you change your mind you don’t have to continue.

So, do this today!  Share your gifts and talents with the world and start your business today!

Are you finally going to think about your hopes and dreams?  Are you interested in starting your own business?

It’s not selfish to put yourself first.  In fact, I’ve had many, many women tell me about how they got so sick and some got diseases and had breast cancer because they were putting everyone else first, and, neglected to take care of themselves.

What is going to get you excited to wake up in the morning?  Think about how you want to live the rest of your life.  It’s important because you are important and you MATTER! 😁

Did you know that what you do depends on how you feel about what you know!

Have you ever wondered why you do the things you do or why
you
don’t do certain things?  I certainly have.  It’s been something that I’ve been thinking about for a long, long time.

Many years ago I heard someone say that ‘What You Do, Depends On How You Feel, About What You Know’, and for some reason, I don’t remember who it was or why it was said, but I thought that was so true!  I’m just like that!  What a great revelation it was for
me!

I don't know about you but doing things or not doing things has been a problem for me all my adult life when I haven't felt like
doing things I don’t feel like and why I haven’t accomplished the things that I wanted or thought I would. Including goals!

Isn’t it interesting that we can be forced to do things that need to
be done if there’s a negative consequence involved?  And I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve had many negative consequences happen even when I knew that if I did or didn’t do that thing, something negative was going to happen.

But I choose to make better choices now because I don’t want to experience any more negative consequences also know as pain-mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and sometimes physically!

This all goes back to what we do on a regular basis usually happens because we’ve created habits based on how we FEEL about certain things.

Sometimes we just can’t help but run our lives with our emotions at the controls.  Doesn’t that sound scary!

Knowing something is one thing, but, if we let our emotions take over without thinking about what we know first … well, that could lead to doing crazy things that might cause frustration later on.

Take charge of your emotions!  Don’t let them loose at any old time.
Think about how it’s going to affect you before it happens.

Do you know what those 3 ways are?

The first example I've seen is someone who is kind to themself
and is kind to others.

The second example is someone who is not kind to themself but
is kind to others.

And the third example is someone who is not kind to themself
and is not kind to others.  I know that this is not an example of kindness being expressed, but it does show what happens
when kindness is missing from someone's life.

Choose today to be kind to yourself and to others.  We need
more kindness in this world!

There’s a big scary word out there in business land!  Do you know what that word is? That word is ➡️ MARKETING!

You might have had a wave of heat wash over you when you heard that word! And maybe even had your stomach do a summersault,
or even worse-your heart started beating really fast! Either way, the word marketing can be scary if you’ve never had any experience or have tried to do any marketing for yourself or your new or existing business.

I am by no means a marketing expert, I’m just sharing what I’ve done and what has worked really well and I turn to God for guidance too, because God comes first in my life and in my business, and not to mention that He has shown me things I would have never thought of myself.

So make sure you turn to God for guidance in everything that you do, you’ll be so happy that you did.  I can say that with certainty.

The things I’ll talk about are really simple ways to get started
doing your marketing-and the type of marketing I want to talk
about is called referral marketing, or word of mouth marketing.

And this is where you start by telling the people you know about your business like what service you have or what product or products you are selling, and who you and if it’s specifically for a men or women, etc.

The more specific you get the better.

The best kind of marketing for these reasons:

1. it doesn’t cost you any money, especially if you are starting out
in your business and you don’t have a lot of money to spend on marketing, or if you don’t have any money at all.

2. you don’t have to spend hours and hours a day because you’re creating that ripple effect

3.  people are more likely to trust you if they were referred to you
by someone they know.  And please be a person that someone
can trust when doing business with you.

4. you can get testimonials from these referrals after they do business with you.

I’ve never had to pay for any kind of ads for my business, but you never know one day I might.

If you’re afraid to call or verbally tell someone, then send them a text message, an email, or maybe even something in the mail!  There’s not a lot of people sending cute little announcements in
the mail these days

Years ago I had to help the sewing store that I worked for put together the ad for the newspaper and it’s not any different
now.

It’s a lot of work because you have to figure out who you want to market to, what are the words to use in the ad that will get people’s attention and make them want to read the ad, then you have to decide what image to use and the colors the Ad.

What is expansive thinking?

I use the analogy of blowing up a balloon.

The balloon expands with each breath of air that you blow into it.

It's really hard at first but then it gets easier the more you keep blowing.

If you're not someone that thinks big about everything in your
life, then
try using the expansive thinking method.

A little at a time makes all the difference.

Have you always secretly wondered if your talents and passions could bring in money for you and your family? and you’ve never
told anyone because you’re worried about what they’ll think or say or that maybe you don’t know if you have what it takes?

And you’re working at a job and you’ve never really had your own business and you don’t think or consider yourself an entrepreneur or a business owner because you’ve always worked for somebody else.

Maybe you don’t know if you have what it takes to make money
off of your creative passion.

It does take time, commitment, patience but most of all it takes
the love you have for what you create and the desire to want to share it with people.

I want to talk about those things.

Having a job and your own business have a lot of things in
common: when you first get hired at your job you have to learn
the job, you didn’t just show up to work and know what and how you were supposed to do that job, just because you have a
college degree or similar work experience

->use your skills and you might have to learn new skills or how
to do something that you’re not familiar with

->time commitment

->energy commitment

->focus

->patience

->the ability to think

->money-you’ll be spending and making money

So if you’ve been secretly wondering If Your Talents And Passions Could Bring In Money For You And Your Family, and you want to
talk to me about it, then I want you to send me a DM on Instagram @janinjohnston or send me an email at aloha@janinjohnston.com
so we can schedule a time to talk.

You have a choice on what you want to do every day.

You do make choices every minute of the day, and I wanted to
talk about what would you like to do versus what you have to do.

Think about the different areas of your life: fun for you, for you
and your family, work, your job-what you’d like to do in your job, would you like to create a business?

You have agency - a.k.a. - free will.

What would like to do from here on out?

There’s always going to be things that you have to do, but
there’s the opportunity to live fully, even when you have
trials.

I want to help you wake every day and have something to get excited about.

Have you ever said to yourself or someone, “I would like to ________”?

Out of all the choices that you have to make in your life, why not choose the things that you’d like to do that are fun and would light you up.

The words “start a business” can be very scary to some people.

Having a business has also been called- a side hustle, side job
and things like that.

So many creative people are used to giving away the things
that they make and I used to be like that for many years, and
would have never thought to start selling their craft.

And I want to ask you a question: have you ever thought “hm, maybe I could sell my craft”.

I believe that God has given everyone the ability to create and
that we are all meant to create.

And, there are people who would love to buy what you make, I
know I have bought other people’s craft.  I’ve bought a lot of
glass because I don’t know how to make and work with glass.

It’s so gratifying to know that someone has your artwork or craft
in their home.

We eat snacks because we’re wanting and looking for a certain feeling.

No one really wants to feel frustrated.

We try to find something that makes us feel better and take
away the frustration that we’re feeling in our bodies and could
even make us want to scream!

Sugar and chips taste so good in our mouth and then we want more, but, snacking is just a temporary relief.  That relief will
only last 5 or 10 minutes, and I’m talking from experience.

These are some of the things that you can do to relieve your frustration instead of snacking:

  • Journal-start writing things out.
  • Do something creative-it will help you deal with things
    in a better way.
  • Close your eyes and do that deep belly breathing.
  • Exercise-if you have a bicycle, ride around your
    neighborhood.

Figure out what works for you, maybe you have other ideas of things you could do when you have that urge to snack!

Today I'm covering the 4th step on this journey of daring to dream, and I would love it if you got clear on your 'WHY' for fulfilling
your dream that you have.

Ask yourself a lot of 'what' questions like:
What gets me excited about fulfilling this dream?
What is important about this dream?
What feeling are you wanting to have?
What will this do for your life?
And a 'who' question:
Who am I going to become?

What if questions are very important for you to ask yourself
in your life and your business.

Seriously think about WHAT IF questions.

Start writing WHAT IF questions like:
What if my business were successful?
What if my life is/was successful?

Take the time every day to ask yourself these questions.

You never know where those questions could take you.

Let your mind go and let anything that comes to your mind and
let it flow.

Start making it a practice.  You don’t know what’s possible if
you don’t ask.

Ask, ask, and ask!

Be persistent like when you were a kid.  You might be able to
see what you were interested in at such a young age.

It could lead you to some really good ideas in your business

There’s beauty in your creations and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Every time you create something, you always try to make it
beautiful even if you don’t realize it.

Just like when you decorate your home, you find beautiful
pictures or artwork to put on your walls, and you choose the
color of paint you love to put on your walls.

When you go out in nature, there’s something beautiful to look
at that God created.

There’s beauty everywhere and it makes you feel good.

Share your creation with people.  Share the beauty of your
creation with someone.

Share it with your neighbor.  It will make them smile.

Creativity is one of those things that when you create
something it is original.

Use your gifts that you were given by God and it’s given
to you to bless you and the lives of other people.

Everything you see on this planet is original - it went through
the creation process.

The two flowers that I have in my hair are not alike even though
they came from the same tree.  The petals are a slightly different color and size.

Identical twins are not alike.  They are similar but are different
in size and how they sound, and so on.

There are no two things or people on this earth and that’s what’s
so fulfilling when you can create something original.

You and I create every day of our lives.

You were born to create!  Everything you do is a creation.

We are creators, you're a creator.

Just remember that you original, you have a purpose here on
earth and you’re special.

If you’re a creative person who’s interested in learning how to

It’s important to care about using your creative gifts.

When you get into that space and just be open, that’s where
the magic happens and things come about.  That’s where life
gets exciting!

There’s a beautiful flow of energy that happens when you’re creating, your mind expands and it’s open and you get into that flow.

I want to challenge you today to do something creative every
day.

This is about you feeling fulfilled and opening up to what’s
possible for you.

Do something that you’ve never tried before.

If you’re a creative person who’s interested in learning how to
make your creative passion into a business I will help with clarity,
I will hold your hand and walk with you from start to finish, and
just like I used to sew elaborate outfits I will help you put all the different pieces together until you have a beautiful creation.

I am going to be your cheerleader, your technical advisor,
and I’m going to be your accountability coach.  Email me at

I'm wrapping up the Money & Finances week, and I'm having
you add one more thing into your 'Investment Portfolio'- it has
to do with saving money.

And In episode #128, I covered the top 4 things that are the greatest stress for women when it comes to their finances.

In episode #129, I taught about having an 'Investment Portfolio'
and it's probably not what you're thinking.

In episode #130, I taught about one more thing that I would
want you to put into your investment portfolio.  It has to do
with 30 minutes a week.

You can do this!

If you’re a creative person who’s interested in learning how to
make your creative passion into a business I will help with clarity,
I will hold your hand and walk with you from start to finish, and
just like I used to sew elaborate outfits I will help you put all the different pieces together until you have a beautiful creation.

Money and finances week!

In episode #129, I talked about your Investment Portfolio which
is about you investing in yourself, and it includes these two things:

1. Exercise/taking care of yourself.

2. Writing down on paper all of your money that comes in and
goes out every month.

And, I have a 3rd investment that I want you to make, and it’s to take time every week, at least 30 minutes to work on your finances.

If you’re a creative person who’s interested in learning how to
make your creative passion into
a business I will help with clarity,
I will hold your hand and walk with you from start to finish, and
just like I used to sew elaborate outfits I will help you put all the different pieces together until you have a beautiful creation.

Money and finances week!

Do You Have An Investment Portfolio? Do You Want To Know
What It Is?!

Investing in yourself is the kind of investment portfolio I'm
sharing in this episode.

That's one of the best things that you can do for yourself, and,
it's not
selfish.

Think about what happens when you fly on an airplane - the
first thing the flight attendants instruct everyone is for the adult
to put on their oxygen mask first, and then, take care of your family/children.

This is the same thing that you need to do for yourself!

Put your health first so that you can take care of your loved ones.  That's the best investment you could ever make.

Everyone needs to have an 'investment portfolio' and in it, one
of the first things you're going to put in it is your health/exercise
and the second you're going to put is logging your finances:
money coming in and money going out.

If you’re a creative person who’s interested in learning how
to make your creative passion into a business I will help with
clarity, I will hold your hand and walk with you from start to
finish, and just like I used to sew elaborate outfits I will help
you put all the different pieces together until you have a

Money and finances week!

In this episode, I’m sharing the top 4 things about money that stresses women out the most!  These are things that many
women have shared with me after interviewing dozens of women over a 2-year period.

We need money to live here on earth.  There’s just no way around it.  And because we need money to live, we need to manage it and talk about it without getting stressed or upset.

If you’re a creative person who’s interested in learning how to
make your creative passion into a business I will help with clarity,

I want to talk about personal development.

How’s your personal development going?

It’s not a pretty topic and not everyone wants to talk about it, but with all the crazy negativity happening in the world right now.

Personal development is such a broad topic and there are so many areas to talk about like:

How are you doing mentally, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and socially-family and friends?

It’s a lifelong journey, it’s not going to happen in one day or in just one year, it’s something that you’ll have to do every day.

Think about an area of your life where you’re struggling.  Are you having a hard time emotionally?  Write down all the emotions that you’re feeling right now in a notebook.

Thank you for letting me share and teach you all the things I know.

It’s always great to have people to help us in our journey.

When you work on your self-development, the small wins make
you feel so good about yourself.

In order to do something better, you have to become better.

You have worth and value, so take the time and work on your self-development today.

If you’re a creative person who’s interested in learning how to
make your creative passion into a business I will help with clarity,
I will hold your hand and walk with you from start to finish, and
just like I used to sew elaborate outfits I will help you put all the different pieces together until you have a beautiful creation.

Let me ask you a set of questions.

What do you say yes to when it comes to your personal life?

Do you even say yes to yourself? Ever?

Do you say yes to things that will help you learn and grow?

Do you say yes to in the line of opportunities that might scare
you?

You have to be able to say yes to yourself.

Are you say yes to something new?

Everyone has a dream in their heart, and nothing new will come
into your life until you say “Yes”

If you’re a creative person who’s interested in learning how to
make your creative passion into a business I will help with clarity,
I will hold your hand and walk with you from start to finish, and

Will you say “No” to putting yourself last?  This is for people pleasers.

Mom’s tend to put their children first and then put themselves
last.

Will you say “No” to making everyone else happy?

Because it’s really impossible to make anyone happy.  They have
to decide for themself to be happy, they have to choose it.

Will you say “No” to negative thoughts?

Be aware of those negative thoughts that come into your mind, because it can suck the life out of you if you aren’t aware that
it’s happening.

What method can you use to catch that thought?

You can test out the method I use to catch negative thoughts
and switch it out.  Watch and find out what I do.

If you’re a creative person who’s interested in learning how to

Today”s episode is about being paralyzed by fear

but before I do I wanted to ask you if you’ve ever considered meeting with me for a coaching session?  I just want to let you know that I do business coaching to help you get your creative business started.

We’ll work together to outline all the steps to get your business up and running quickly-especially with the tech part. I love tech so I can definitely help you with that if that freaks you out just thinking about it.

And I’m here to serve you and help you if you're standing in your own way and if you feel like you're just not sure what to do then email me at ALOHA@JANINJOHNSTON.COM to get my coaching menu and book a coaching session with me.

Being paralyzed by fear always seems to feel real especially because it comes in all shapes and sizes and can appear/mask
itself as something else too.  For example, it could appear as being not ready because I don’t  know enough or I have to wait until my life is not so busy, or, if you want to sell something that you made
then you might have said that I have to perfect my project first

Are you spending too much time worrying about what others will think of you that you’re missing out on your opportunity to bring value to other people with your creative gift and gifts?

Remember that you were given gifts from God to share and to
bless your life and the lives of other people.  And by nature
women are generous and love to give their time.

There’s an indescribable feeling of feeling fulfilled when you
share your gifts.

Don’t let fear paralyze you and steal your joy!

And please share this podcast with anyone who you know would get great value out of listening to it, especially if they are thinking about starting their own business.

And please rate and review this podcast, thank you so much.

When you know who you are, it makes life so much easier, and if
you have a business, it makes life in your business so much easier because you’re not going to question who you are.

And it becomes easier to deal with all the negative things that happen in your life and in your business.

Find out who you are now if you’re not sure.

What do you believe in and what do you want in your life? What
you stand for, what your likes and dislikes are.  Write down everything you can think of about yourself, in every aspect of
your life.

Your life and business will become so much sweeter when you know!

As a creative entrepreneur, we love what we create with a passion and that fear of judgment is real!

1. Acknowledge your fear - (instead of calling it something else)

2. Prayer-ask God to help you move forward & take that fear from
you

3. Your LOVE for helping other people and sharing your creative gifts has to be greater than your fear

4. Take a STEP IN FAITH that everything will work out

5. Get support from someone that you trust

Did you ever wonder if you can make a positive impact in
your life or in your community?

I know that you have a creative gift, and it's meant to be shared. And, you can't just keep your creative gifts to yourself.

If you don't bring out your creativity and express it, a part of you will start to feel like you're dying or you're just very dissatisfied or you're not happy. It's like that creativity is knocking "let me out".

I don't know if you've ever had those feelings when you haven't had the opportunity to use your creativity and your gifts when you know what they are.

I don't know if you have fear, or what it is but I want to tell you to use your creative gifts.

And I want to be here to help you along your journey.

There's no one way or right way to make a positive impact.

I want you to be able to make a positive impact in your life using your gifts.  Your gifts are meant to be used and shared.

You'll never know what kind of impact you will have in someone
else's life.

Sit back with your notebook and enjoy this interview I did with Dana Irvine of Divine Wellness.

She said women need to be legacy makers!

I wanted Dana to come on my podcast because I want my
female listeners to be aware of and understand how to take
care of themselves because we live in a toxic and stressful
world.

It's hard to create or have a business if you're struggling with
your health.

She shares her Four-Fold Foundation:
Your foundation of faith and God.
Nutrition-understand and journal.
Pause and reflect.
Body-need to move, self-care, dry brushing

You can connect with Dana at divinewellness.com and go

With this being a new year, we don’t have any time to waste!

Because if you want to start your own business or even if you already have a business.  You’re going to have to have many
things in place in order to start, run, and grow it, and having a schedule is very crucial to the success or your business.

You do have to choose the method that works best for you.
You can use a digital calendar or a paper planner.  Whatever

I want to talk about success in a way where you schedule in
your own success.

Think about this, if you have a job you have a schedule that
you’re on in order to get things done.

What is your definition of success?

No one will ever have the same definition of success, and write down what your definition is and what does it mean to you.

Does it mean that you have success in your family, having a
certain amount of money, or success in your job?

Don’t put any limits on your success because you have to find what’s most meaningful to you.

Every single day, 7 days a week schedule in 15 minutes to work
on doing something that will lead you to your success.

You can find 15 minutes a day even if you’re busy. If it’s meaning full to you, you can find 15 minutes a day.

Success could be in the areas of mental, emotional, spiritual, or physical - or all of the above.

There’s no timeline for success, but if you want to you can make
a timeline then figure out what you want to accomplish by what date.

Success can be a life long journey with milestones along the way.

I want to put this in your mind and in your heart.

If you don’t take the time to schedule in your success, someone else will come in and take up your time instead.
